Happy Belly Stewed Apples

For healthy digestion, we need to feed our microbiome daily with the right foods. Besides fibre apples also have pectin that supports healthy microbiome. Cinnamon is the perfect pairing for apples but also it is anti-inflammatory and helps stabilize the blood glucose. The raisins add a bit more fibre and sweetness. Why not raw apples? There stewed apples are much easier to digest without loosing any of the health benefits we spoke about, making this recipe perfect for people with sensitive stomachs and digestions issues.


  • 3 bio apples

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • Lemon zest (optional)

  • Raisins or cranberries (optional)


Wash your apples well. Core but do not peel. Cut into wedges. Add to a saucepan with the water and cinnamon, zest, raisins. Cook over a low heat, very slowly until soft. This will take approximately 10-15 minutes.
